A Bible study for everyone in British Columbia
Maybe you've always meant to read the Bible but never knew where to start. Maybe you grew up with it and want to understand it more deeply. Or maybe you have honest questions, about God, about suffering, about what happens next, and you'd like to look at what the Bible actually says.
Wherever you're starting from, you're welcome here. Bible Study BC connects people across the province with a free, personal Bible study. There are no lectures and no pressure. We open the Bible, read it together, and let it explain itself. You set the pace, and you're free to ask anything.
We serve the whole province, from Vancouver, Surrey and Victoria to Kelowna, Kamloops, Prince George and the Kootenays. If there's a study partner near you, you can meet in person. If not, or if you simply prefer it, you can study online from wherever you are.
Two ways to study

Both options are free, personal and flexible. Pick the one that fits your life; you can always switch later.
Study face to face
Meet with a friendly study partner in your home, at a library or a quiet café near you. Perfect if you enjoy conversation over a cup of tea and like to have someone beside you as you turn the pages. Available where we have volunteers nearby.
In-person Bible study →
Study from anywhere
Join a live, one-on-one or small-group study by video call from your living room, your lunch break or your cabin up north. All you need is a phone, tablet or computer. Ideal for busy schedules and smaller communities.

Getting started is simple

Fill in the short sign-up form and tell us whether you'd like to study in person or online, plus any topics you're curious about.
We'll reach out
A friendly study partner will contact you, usually within a few days, to find a day and time that suits you. Evenings and weekends are fine.
Open the Bible together
Each study takes about an hour. We read the passages together, talk them through, and leave plenty of room for your questions. Stop any time.

A Bible reading plan you can start any month
Want to read through the Bible on your own as well? Our free Bible reading plan takes you through the whole Bible in twelve months, with one Old Testament and one New Testament reading each day.
Each month has 25 readings, so there's breathing room to catch up when life gets busy. Tick off each day as you go and your progress is saved right on your device. You can also print it.

From the Lower Mainland to Vancouver Island, the Okanagan, the Interior and the North, people across BC are opening the Bible with us. In-person studies are arranged wherever a study partner is nearby, and online studies are available everywhere in the province.

We don't ask you to take our word for anything. Each study compares scripture with scripture so you can see what the Bible says and draw your own conclusions.
Free, always
There's no fee, no subscription and no sales pitch. Studies, materials and the reading plan are free because God's Word is a gift.
Personal and unhurried
One-on-one or small group, at your own pace. Skip ahead, slow down, or spend a whole session on one question. It's your study.
Respectful of every background
Whether you're a lifelong believer, curious, sceptical or brand new, you'll be treated with kindness and respect. Questions are always welcome.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Bible study really free?
Yes. Every study, every printed or digital material and the reading plan are completely free. There's no catch and nothing to buy.
Do I need to know anything about the Bible?
Not at all. Many people start with no background whatsoever. We'll show you how to find passages and explain things as we go. If you don't have a Bible, we can help you get one.
Can I choose between in-person and online?
Yes. When you sign up, simply select In-Person or Online. In-person studies are arranged where a study partner is available near you; online studies are available anywhere in BC.
How long is each study and how often do we meet?
Most studies take about an hour, once a week, but you set the pace. Some people meet every other week; others prefer two shorter sessions.
Is this connected to a particular church?
Our focus is simply the Bible. We study what Scripture says, comparing verse with verse. You're welcome whatever your background, and you'll never be pressured to join anything.
